Kohima, May 26 (NE): Manipur state has increased its daily testing capacity of COVID-19 samples by testing over 900 samples today, May 26, 2020.
Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh in a social media notification said that, today Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) conducted 580 tests and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) have done 320 tests till now. A total of 900 tests has been conducted till now for today. Some more tests will be done at RIMS today.
Further, the Chief Minister of Manipur expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Authorities, Doctors and other staffs of RIMS and JNIMS for tireless and fearless efforts to increase the number of testing capacity of COVID-19.
This increase in testing will help in confirming the active cases of COVID-19 in the State which will enable to discharge people from the quarantine centres quickly, said Manipur CM.
As on 08:00 pm, May 26, 2020, Manipur has reported 39 positive cases for COVID-19, in which four have been recovered.
