Kohima, July 08 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS through a press release on Tuesday confirmed that eight (8) new COVID-19 positive cases were detected among the returnees.
As per the report received from the Chief Medical officer, Tuensang, 10 (ten) returnees were tested COVID-19 positive by TRUENAT machine on July 03, 2020.
Subsequently, confirmatory testing was done on July 06, 2020 by RDRP GENE (SARS COV-2) Confirmation and 8 (eight) returnees were tested positive, stated the DC of Tuensang.
Ramnikant also informed that the patients have been admitted at COVID Care Centre, Tuensang, for isolation, and the patients are reported to be asymptomatic and stable at present.
With the latest confirmed COVID-19 positive cases, total count rises to 35, in which 7 patients have recovered and the active cases in Tuensang district now stands at 28.
