8 Cadres of NSCN-K (YA) And NSCN (R) Surrenders

Kohima, April 14 (NEx): Eight (8) active cadres of NSCN-K(YA) and NSCN (R) surrendered after a concerted effort of Khonsa & Longding Battalions of Assam Rifles under Spear Corps and Arunachal Pradesh Police in Longding District, Arunachal Pradesh. The cadres includes five NSCN-K(YA) cadres and three NSCN (R) cadres, who surrendered before a joint team of Khonsa Battalion, Longding Battalion and Longding Police.

The PRO (Def) informing this in a press release said that the surrender of these cadres will motivate other cadres in the region to re-join the mainstream.

He also said, the cadres have revealed that they led a difficult life while underground, and made an appeal to their comrades to shun violence.
