20 Cadres Surrender With Arms Before Manipur Chief Minister

Kohima, March 09 (NEx): A total of 20 cadres from different outfits have surrendered with arms and ammunition before the Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh at a homecoming ceremony held at the Banquet Hall at 1st Manipur Rifles complex Imphal on Tuesday, March 09, 2021.

Chief Minister handed over the financial assistance to the surrendered militants under the revised scheme of Surrender-cum- Rehabilitation of militants in the North East states, 2018 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Under the revised scheme, a one time financial assistance of Rs. 4 lacs each to cadres, which is to be kept as a fixed deposit for a period of three years in their respective names were provided.

Surrendered militants will stay in a Rehabilitation camp for a period of 3 years. During this period they will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs.6,000 each for 3 years, informed Manipur CM.
