Kohima, November 17 (NEx): Nagaland recorded a hike of 163 new COVID-19 positive cases today, November 17, taking the total count in the state to 10,188, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today.
Among the new cases detected, 133 cases were detected in Peren, 14 in Dimapur, 12 in Kohima, 03 in Phek and 01 in Tuensang, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1134. The Health Minister also cautioned to follow the 3 W’s: Wear Mask, Wash Hands & Watch Distance.

The state also reported 37 recoveries of COVID-19 patients today, out of which 21 patients recovered from Dimapur, 10 from Mon and 06 from Kohima, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 8,897.

Among the new cases detected today, 132 cases are from among the armed forces/ security personnel, 28 traced contacts and 03 among returnees/ travellers.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4,260 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 45% of the total tally, 1,741 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 3,714 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases and 474 front line workers at 05%.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1086 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 24 active cases are mild, 13 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 04 active cases are severe on oxygen, 05 active cases are critical in ICU without oxygen and 02 active cases are on ventilator.
So far, the State has reported forty seven (47) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID and four (4) death cases are under investigation and 100 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
