Assam Rifles recovered Contraband Drugs worth Rs 28 Cr and Brown Sugar worth Rs 1.23 Cr from Manipur

Monday, October 7 (NE): Eastern Command, Indian Army on Monday, October 7, 2019 reported on two search operations conducted by troops of Assam Rifles at Moreh and Khudengthabi Check-Post in Tengnoupal, Manipur on Saturday (October 5, 2019).

Based on specific input received from Assam Rifles Field Intelligence Unit, the Assam Rifles Battalion at Moreh under aegis of IGAR (South) along with Moreh Police, recovered huge amount of contraband drugs worth INR 26 Crore from a house in Phaicham Veng, Moreh, Manipur belonging to Ms Hahat w/o late Kamnik on Saturday, October 5, 2019. The lady was apprehended alongwith recovered contraband and handed over to the Moreh Police for further investigation.

In another report of search operation based on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles Battalion in Tengnoupal, Manipur along with Police recovered Brown Sugar worth Rs 1.23 Cr from a hideout on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Recovered contraband has been handed over to Police for investigation.
