Zeme Olympic Closing Ceremony & Valedictory Program 2019 held at Jalukie Town

Kohima, December 17 (NE): First ever Zeme Olympic 2019 Closing ceremony & valedictory program Organised by Zeme Olympic Association (ZOA) was held on 17th December 2019 at GHSS ground, Jalukie Town, Peren with Advisor to Water Resources, Namri Nchang as a special guest and Commissioner and Secretary, Kelei Zeliang, IAS as Guest of honour.

Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang in his speech congratulated the officials of the Zeme Olympic Association (ZOA) for their tireless efforts. He maintained that irrespective of the artificial boundary that set Zeme community apart, he was overwhelmed the see the young Zeme’s from all the three states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, who with great enthusiasm has makes the events a very successful one. As Zeme sets to create a history of their own, he hoped that the Olympic will be a turning point to unite and strengthen Zeme community from every corner.

He congratulated all the teams for enduring hardships and participating in the events and encouraged to stand with optimistic thinking, thought and learn to promote the spirit of unity and fraternity within the community and in the society. He also congratulated Ratobe Poireng from Poila village for becoming the first person from Zeme community and the Nagas to play in European football league. Organizing the Olympic with a great vision is not only to promote sports but to amalgamate all the community and the Nagas in general, he added.

Earlier, the album “Alung ah haplei” volume 2 was released by Daniel Pame & CO. speeches were given by the chief host, Dr. Tumda Newme, President, Zeme Council, Nagaland Robert Riame, President, Zeme Council Assam and Dr. Aku Newme, President Zeme Council Manipur.
