Kohima, July 08 (NEx): The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) alongwith all the CSOs of Peren District, stated that The long felt need of the District has been a good road connection to link commercial hub of Imphal, which eventually leads to international border town of Moreh, and then to Myanmar.
It said that India’s earlier Look East Policy elevated to ACT EAST is a reality now, therefore, NH129A is bound to be the alternative route taking up heavy traffic volumes relieving often heavy congestion in the NH29 Numaligarh to Moreh via Kohima-Mao-Imphal route. The District has been deprived of good metal road network even after several decades of Nagaland attaining statehood.
The organization mentioned that the role of initiating for construction of National Highway No.129A linking Dimapur to Maram via Peren, was taken up by Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland through Nagaland State Government during the visit of MoRTH Minister, Gov’t of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari to Peren District in 2015. It said the District is deeply indebted to the Hon’ble Minister of MoRTH for approving this proposal in a record time.
Since NH129A is a dream lifeline for Peren District, a lifetime achievement for the denizens of Peren District, ZBN insists that All contractors working for the contract packages within Peren District should strictly adhere to the technical specifications of MoRTH without any compromise and to complete in scheduled time.
To implement this task, ZBN said it’s volunteers with Identity Cards will be deployed time to time to assist and coordinate with site Engineers of NHIDCL and any form of taxation, demand, extortion and harassment to the contractors by any section of groups/elements of people would not be allowed within Peren District jurisdiction.
