Dimapur July 30, (NEx): Mokokchung Police celebrated the ‘World Day against Human Trafficking’ in association with Sakhi One Stop Centre today, July 30 at SP office, Mokokchung by felicitating the winner of the poetry competition on the topic ‘Committed to the Cause Working on the Frontline to End Human Trafficking’.
A press release by SP Mokokchung, Vishal IPS, on July Thirty, updated on the activities undertaken during this occasion:
*Poetry competition was conducted in two categories – Junior category (Class 8 – 10) and Senior category (Class 11 – Master degree) with overall 25 participants and 3 prize winners in each category. The winners were acknowledged with certificate and cash prize.
Under Junior category, Moanenla Lemtur bagged the first prize, Ashika Gupta and Adrija Bhattacharya bagged second and third prize respectively.
Under senior category, Lipoksungkum Jamir bagged the first prize, Imolemla and Chubatemsu Kichu bagged second and third prize respectively.
*AIR program on awareness about legal provisions and institutional set up to fight against Human Trafficking, steps to be taken to avoid being a victim, Modus operandi of traffickers and warning signs to detect a victim by various stakeholders – both English and Ao local dialect.
*Pamphlet distribution across PS jurisdictions (prepared by State Resource centre for women).
The program was chaired by M Ajungla Longchar (Case worker – Sakhi-OSC), the key note address was delivered by SP Mokokchung, Vishal IPS, Dharam Raj IAS, SDO Civil Mokokchung also shared a short speech on behalf of district administration and lastly the vote of thanks was presided by Wangshinaro Yaden (Centre Administrator, Saki OSC).
It is pertinent to note that such program has been organised throughout Nagaland by Sakhi One Stop CenterCenters, Nagaland.
