Kohima, December 08 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha Orenthung Lotha, directed the organizers of social events to inform the district administration beforehand with a list of all the attendees and follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
The DC said this at the Wokha district Task Force (WDTF) review meeting held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall on December 08, 2020, on account of the increasing number of social events such as weddings in Wokha town during the past few weeks.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman WDTF for COVID-19, Orenthung Lotha, was called following the detection of five (5) positive cases of COVID-19 in the district.
Addressing the DTF members, Orenthung Lotha said that Wokha was a green zone for some time but now contact tracing process has to be activated in order to avoid any surge in positive cases. Chief Medical Officer Wokha Dr. C.W.Tungoe briefed the DTF members on Covid-19 status in the district. He also informed that the surveillance team is doing their part in contact tracing.
Further, District Hospital Wokha Pathologist Dr. Nzanthung stated that both Truenat and Rapid Antigent tests are available in the district for suspected cases while, Dr. Mhonchan Kithan, Quarantine Officer Wokha informed that registration of returnees is still going on at Wokha Town Hall and so far none of the persons advised for home quarantine has any symptoms.
