Wokha: DA & DLCW-MSK Felicitates Girl Child academic achievers

Kohima, September 19 (NEx): The District Administration and DLCW-MSK, under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), organised a short programme at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha on September 18, 2020 to felicitate schools in which girl child has achieved 100% transition and has done exceptionally well in the field of education based on last year’s academic results (2019).

Cash incentives and citation certification were given to 17 schools under Wokha district. The award was given in two categories;

– Class 5 to class 6 (Three schools) namely GHS Longtsung, GHS Mekokla and GHS L.Longidang.
– Class 8 to class 9 (14 schools)
namely GHSS Wokha, Chukitong, Bhandari, GHS Baghty, GHS Akuk, GHS Sungro, GHS Wokha village, GHS Wozhuro, GHS Longtsung, GHS Mekokla, GHS L. Longidang, GHS Englan, GHS Sanis and GHS Rachan.

EAC (DEV) Wokha, Imtinungula Longkumer while handing over the cash to the Teachers In-Charge, urged them to utilise the funds judiciously for the welfare of the school so that student’s will be encouraged to do better and bring good results in the coming years as
well.

GHS Teacher In-Charge Wozhuro, who spoke on behalf of all the teachers expressed happiness and lauded the District Administration and DLCW-MSK for taking up such initiatives in encouraging the girl child and expressed hope that through such initiatives
the students will be encouraged to do better in the years to come.

Further, the District Administration handed over blankets, baby kits and nutritional supplements to one of the lactating mother returnee who reached the district during the lockdown period under BBBP.
