Kohima, September 11 (NEx): COTPA flying squad under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) conducted raid on tobacco products in and around school and college areas in Wokha Town on September 11, 2020. The raid was led by District Nodal Officer Dr. Daisy.

COTPA flying squad consists of District Administration, Police, Excise, Lotha Students Union, DBs and Women Police and members from NTCP.

DIPR report said that the team was divided into four groups and the raid was carried out in all the institutional areas within Wokha town where the team seized various tobacco products selling in an around the school and college areas. Altogether, 15 (fifteen) defaulters were penalized under COTPA Act.

District Nodal Officer NTCP, Dr. Daisy informed that similar raids will be carried out frequently. She also thanked all the members for the support extended in carrying out the raid, it said.

Seized products were destroyed on the same day in the presence of all the flying squad members.
