Wokha became COVID-19 free district, all cases recovered

Kohima, September 23 (NEx): Wokha district in Nagaland has become a COVID-19 free district as all COVID-19 positive patients has recovered. According to COVID-19 bulletin issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, Wokha is the second district in Nagaland with zero COVID positive cases alongwith Longleng.

Wokha district is the third least COVID-19 affected district in Nagaland with 25 positive cases of COVID-19 after Kiphire with 12 cases and Longleng with 6 cases till date, updated the COVID-19 daily bulletin today. It is important to note that Wokha has not reported any death due to COVID-19.

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of District Task Force, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha informed that the COVID-19 positive cases in Wokha District now stands at Zero. The DC also expressed gratitude towards all the frontline workers for their combined efforts.

Meanwhile, State COVID-19 tally rises to 5671, with 67 new cases on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Active cases stands at 1119. The State also reported 4509 recoveries from COVID-19 and death toll stands at 11.

At present, 78 persons are undergoing home quarantine in Wokha district, updated the COVID-19 bulletin.
