With first Covid-19 case in Nagaland, extension of lockdown a much-needed advantage: Y Patton

Kohima, April 14 (NE): Nagaland Deputy CM Y Patton said the extension of lockdown as declared by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation, today, April 14, is the need of the hour.

In Nagaland, with the first positive confirmed case, extension of lockdown would give us a much-needed advantage, added the Deputy CM Y Patton.

Earlier this morning, PM Modi in his address to the nation has announced on the extension of nationwide lockdown till May 03, 2020 and some relaxations may be allowed after April 20 in places where it is not a hotspot of the pandemic.

Detailed guidelines on the implementation of the new lockdown to be announced on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, PM Modi added.

A patient referred from a private hospital in Dimapur to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, April 12. He was returned to Dimapur by Air India Flight No. 709 from Kolkata on March 24, 2020, making it the first Covid-19 case from Nagaland state.
