Dimapur, July 26 (NEx): With 581 active COVID positive cases, out of 794 total cases in Nagaland, Dimapur and Kohima re-imposed total lockdown. 73% of the total active COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland are in Dimapur and Kohima districts.
Dimapur district goes for 8 days total lockdown from today, till August 02, 2020 with 364 active COVID positive cases in the district. Meanwhile, 4 deaths of COVID positive patients are reported in Dimapur district.
District Task Force Dimapur re-imposed total lockdown in the district due to surge in COVID cases. Dimapur district has reported 526 postive cases as on July 25, 2020, in which, 163 patients recovered from COVID-19.
Kohima municipal areas entered its second day of seven days total lockdown today with 217 active COVID positive cases in the district. The District Task Force Kohima re-imposed a week long total lockdown within Kohima municipal area from July 25 till July 31, 2020. Kohima district has reported a total of 334 COVID positive cases, out of this 117 patients have recovered from COVID-19, stated daily bulletin on July 25, 2020.
The total lockdown is imposed to enhance active surveillance, comprehensive contact tracing, early detection of suspected cases and isolation measures so as to break the chain of transmission and prevent further spread.
Meanwhile, Nagaland reports 50 new COVID-19 positive cases today, July 26, 2020, taking the State tally to 1339. Out of this, 541 patients recovered from COVID-19 and the active cases now stands at 794.
