War Against Drugs Continues At Noklak; One Held

Kohima, February 06 (NEx): Noklak Police ‘Anti Drugs Squad’, apprehended one person with 530 tablets of Spasmcare during a surprise checking and raid on February 5th midnight.

Accordingly, coordination with drug inspector Tuensang was done for further necessary actions after all legal formalities, the Noklak Police informed.

With the prevailing menace of drug abuse in Noklak district, an Anti Drugs Squad was recently formed by the SP Noklak, Dr Pritpal Kaur, at the Noklak Police Unit on January 28.

SP Noklak informed NagalandExpress that under the theme ‘War Against Drugs Abuse’, the anti-drug squad will be building awareness amongst the youth and students, and coordinate with NGOs in organising seminars on livelihood skills, besides conducting regular checking and raids.

She also informed that schedule H drugs are the drugs which cannot be consumed without prescription of the drug from an authorized doctor. Pharmacies also need license from drugs controller and need to maintain records while giving these drugs. Drug inspectors are authorized persons to book the culprits who take action as per law.

Further, the SP emphasized that Youth is the backbone of every society and drugs menace may ruin their future and career. Noklak police is actively conducting checkings on regular basis on one hand and on the other hand, the Police along with NGOs meet youth and village elders on regular basis to create awareness against drugs abuse and OST treatment to young generations.
