Virus Should Not Go To The Rural Areas: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio

Dimapur, May 26 (NEx): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio stated that the Government’s priority was not to allow the spread of corona virus in the rural areas of Nagaland, for which the Government is undertaking aggressive vaccination drive and also strengthening the PHCs. He also informed that Noklak was the only safe district where the virus has not penetrated.

Rio said this while interacting with media persons on the sidelines during his visit to IHM on May 25th, 2021. He added that the Government was trying its best for strengthening the health care facilities in the State particularly Dimapur as the district accounts for more than 60% Covid cases with serious cases and some in ICU and ventilator for more than a month.

Rio also stated that the Government was trying its best to take care of positive people living below poverty line and not putting additional burden to the common man by taking austerity measures.

Further, Rio announced that CIHSR was chosen for construction of 176 bedded hospital with all required necessary infrastructures because of its reputation, expertise, manpower and minimal treatment cost. CIHSR has all the required facilities so when we have another Hospital adjacent to that, the working system becomes easy, Rio noted. It was also agreed that profits realised would be invested in Nagaland, Rio said and expressed happiness while commenting that CIHSR was doing very well.
