Phek, June 29 (NE): On the back drop of rapid increase of COVID-19 positive cases in the State and violations in the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) in public places in Phek district, Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS, on Sunday issued an order to suspend the license of shop or to impose fine from the violators.
Deputy Commissioner Phek stated that relaxation have been given by the Government allowing the shops of various categories to open and operate subject to fulfillment of all SOP on safety to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the State. It’s observed that many citizens/shops are not complying with the directive issued by the Government thereby posing risk for spread of COVID-19.
On the backdrop of this, a task force for enforcement of safety protocols including social distancing has constituted for Phek Town with immediate effect. The report on the enforcement is to be submitted daily by 04:00 pm, said the order.
Also, DC Phek has authorized imposing a fine of Rs. 100 (Rupees one hundred) against any individual / owners of shops/establishment frequented by public for violation of SOP like wearing of face cover/mask in all public places/work places etc, social distancing as per the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, spitting in public places, provision of hand washing / hand sanitizers in all shops/ commercial establishments etc, with effect from June 29, 2020.
The license of any shop which does not allow facilities for provision of hand washing / hand sanitizers shall he suspended for a period of one month on repeat violations, stated the order.
Further, DC Phek requested all the colony Chairman to inform the citizens within their respective jurisdiction to use face mask when in public and maintain social distancing.
