Dimapur, April 06 (NEx): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) in its third representation letter to the Chief Minister of Nagaland opposed the Proposed Shifting of DC Office Dimapur to Chumukedima Village. Earlier, two representations were submitted on August 25, 2014 and June 05, 2015.
The DDCF representation letter dated April 6th, 2021, stated that the apex bodies representing various organisations and citizens of Dimapur have, in earlier representations expressed their resentment against any move to shift the present DC Office Dimapur to Chumukedima village.
However, inspite of the various legitimate and logical reasons stated in earlier representations, it is learnt that the Government of Nagaland is still in the process of shifting the DC office from the present strategic location to the new site. For which, the representatives of various organisations of Dimapur once again reaffirm our earlier representations and have decided not to allow the shifting of the present Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur to Chumukedima village under any circumstances, it said.
The organisations appealed to the Government of Nagaland to listen to the voice of the people and concede to the interest of the public. It said that the government should also revoke the use of the word “Head Quarter: Chumukedima” in the official letter head of the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur.
The apex bodies representing various organisations and citizens of Dimapur District said that it does not have any objection for creation of two administrative heads (Urban and Rural DC) within the district for the convenience of the people.
It further stated that the citizens of Dimapur shall be compelled to take out Democratic agitations to ensure that the interest of the public is safeguarded, in the event of the Government continuing to act against public interest.
