Union Minister Gadkari Approves about 500 km highways in Eastern Nagaland

Kohima, March 04 (NEx): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has approved ‘in-principle’ about 500 kms of more highways- North- South corridor in Eastern Nagaland between Mon and Avangkhu and East-West corridor connecting Tuensang, Noklak, Kiphire and Zhunheboto to Dimapur, informed the Governor of Nagaland today.

The Governor in a release said, “In order to mitigate the huge connectivity deficit of eastern Nagaland and remote districts, we have got, thanks to Nitin Gadkari ji, Honble Minister for Road Transport and Highways, about 500 kms of more highways- North- South corridor in Eastern Nagaland between Mon and Avangkhu and East-West corridor connecting Tuensang, Noklak, Kiphire and Zhunheboto to Dimapur”.

The Governor, RN Ravi said that these highways will be the game changers for our people living in remote districts. Following in principle approval of these highways, the NHIDCL has commenced preparation of detail project report (DPR), he added.

The Governor has been assured by the MORTH of fast pace progress on all their road projects in Nagaland, a press release from Raj Bhavan said today.
