Kohima, September 8 (NE): Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, Zale Neikha officially kicked off the first ever Under-14 category free football coaching camp for both boys and girls at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima on Saturday, (September 7).
A total of 78 trainees, out of which 46 are day scholars (40 boys & 6 girls) and 32 students from the Sports Academy. Students to undergo the coaching camp conducted by the State coaches under Youth Resources and Sports Department, Nagaland. The camp will be conducted twice a week – every Wednesday and Saturday 3pm onwards.
Addressing the campers, Neikha said Nagas are enthusiast footballers but due to lack of exposure and proper training they are unable to excel higher. He, therefore, said that in order to groom the Naga boys and girls from the young age the initiative is being taken up.
Meanwhile, Neikha also informed that the department would soon be launching the free coaching facility in Dimapur district.
