Two Northeast boys were attcked by a group of locals at Delhi on Sunday

New Delhi, August 11: Two Northeastern boys who works in Aurum Restaurant at Hauzkhas village was attacked by a group of local people while they were returning from their work on Sunday early morning (11th August).

The Incident took place on Sunday (11th August) between 2 am – 3 am. When the two boys were returning from work, they saw a group of people fighting on the road side and before they could cross them, with no reason this same group of people came to attack them. They ran to save their life but 6 people chased them and beat them up with hard obstacles and one was even stabbed twice with a beer bottle. Victims were taken to the hospital and are out of danger.

Victims of this attack are Aliba Sangtam, S/o Mukham Sangtam from Nagaland and Satminhao Kipgen, S/o Lal Gougui Kipgen from Manipur. In a statment to the police Satminhao Kipgen said, attackers tried to kill me by piercing empty bottle in my stomach. The Attackers were college students pursuing their LLB.

As good citizens of India the victims forgave the culprits in good spirit, and withdrew the FIR which was lodged at the police station.

Naga Students Union Delhi (NSUD), President, Hinoto P Awomi, along with Kuki Students Organisation Delhi (KSOD) let the culprits and the family take the responsibilities of all the medical expenses. Also, the culprits were made to pay the victim’s one month salary in advance as they won’t be able to go to work for a month while recovering their health and to compensate for the lost gadgets, like mobile phones and watches.
