Two Houses Gutted and Jungle Fires reported

Kohima, April 27 (NEx): Two houses along with house hold properties, documents and cash ₹30,000 were gutted in the fire at Teyong Ward, Tzudikong Town, opposite SBI bank on April 27th, 2021. Property worth Rs. 2.84 lakhs approximately was lost.

The R.O(E) Fire & Emergency Services, Kenny Khing informed that a fire call was received at 09:04 am on April 27th, 2021 from Teyong Ward, Tzudikong Town, opposite SBI bank.

Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Tuli proceeded to control the fire and three Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action. The cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit.

Two houses alongwith house hold properties, documents and cash ₹30,000 were gutted and property worth Rs. 2.84 lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno, however due to intervention of Firefighters, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading. Two Gas cylinders and surrounding three houses and a thatched house could be salvaged. No casualty was reported and fire response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Y Pangai Konyak, the R.O informed.

Jungle Fire at Wokha:

The R.O also informed that a fire call was received at 10:45 PM on April 26th, 2021 from Bhandari Village, Wokha, which is 60 km away from Fire Station.

The Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Wokha proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The Cause of fire could not be ascertained and plantations, Trees and Crops etc. were gutted while property worth ₹3lakhs approximately was lost. However, due to intervention of Firefighters, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further.

It took Fire Team 1 hours and 5 minutes to combat the fire and property worth ₹5 lakhs approximately could be salvaged. Fire response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Bumo Hayang Chang.

Jungle Fire at Mokokchung:

Another fire report from F&ES said that two Jungle Fire call was received at 08:30pm and at 11:00pm on April 26th, 2021 at Sewak Gate.

Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Mokokchung proceeded to control the fire and fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The cause of fire is due to public carelessness, however, due to intervention of Firefighters, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further. Fire response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Meyilemba Jamir.

Jungle Fire at Kohima:

Another Jungle fire was reported by F&ES and said that on receiving fire call at 04:38 PM on April 26th, 2021 below NIELIT, Kohima.

Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (North) proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The cause of fire could not be ascertained, however due to intervention of Firefighters, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading. Fire response team was led by Duty Commander SI Inaka.
