Two houses and a tree plantation razed down by fire at Dimapur & Wokha

Kohima, February 15 (NEx): One House having four rooms and a kitchen along with household belongings and one Katcha House along with household belongings were gutted in two separate fire incidences at Dimapur on February 13th & 15th, 2021, while a Tree plantation and property worth Rs.50,000 approximately were burnt down in Wokha on February 14th, 2021, the Nagaland Fire and Emergency services department informed today.

Fire at Dimapur:

One House having four rooms and a kitchen along with household belongings were gutted in fire, causing a loss of property worth Rs.15 Lakhs approximately on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Mishikito Village, Thilixu area Dimapur.

The RO, F&ES, Kenny Khing informed that a Fire call was received at 01:15 pm on February 13, 2021 from Mishikito Village, Thilixu area Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Dimapur (Central) proceeded to control the fire, and two Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

One House having four rooms and a kitchen along with household belongings were gutted in the inferno, but due to timely information and response, the fire was prevented from spreading further to immediate brick house and a mini bus could be salvaged, the RO informed.

The cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit, and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI G. Niamlungpou Gonmei, Khing said.

In yet another incident, One Katcha House along with household belongings were razed down by fire on February 15, 2021 at Seiuruzha Colony, Dimapur.

The RO informed that a Fire call was received at 9.23 am on February 15, 2021 from Seiuruzha Colony, Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Ch├╝moukedima proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

One Katcha House along with household belongings were razed down in the inferno, and property worth Rs.8 Lakhs approximately was lost, but due to timely information and response, the fire was prevented from spreading further to the surrounding houses.

It took 44 minutes for the Fire Team to combat the fire. The cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit, and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI T. Jonaba, Khing said.

Jungle Fire at Wokha:

In another incident, a Tree plantation and property worth Rs.50,000 approximately was lost in a jungle fire on February 14, 2021 at Lower Mount Tiyi, Wokha.

The RO, F&ES, Kenny Khing informed that a Jungle Fire call was received at 06:04 pm on February 14, 2021 from Lower Mount Tiyi, Wokha.

The Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Wokha proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

Tree plantation and property worth Rs.50,000 approximately was lost in the fire, but due to timely information and response, the jungle fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to the residential area, Khing said.

The RO further said that the cause of fire could not be ascertained, and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Bumo Hayang Chang.
