Peren, July 04 (NEx): On the backdrop of Haryana returnees under home quarantine being tested positive for COVID-19 in Tening under Peren district, the Tening Village Youth Organization (TVYO) & Tening Students’ Union (TSU) expressed resentment over the lapses and negligence in handling returnees, through a representation submitted to Minister incharge for COVID-19 activities in Peren district on Friday, July 03, 2020.
TVYO stated that the sending of Haryana Returnees to Tening for Home quarantine without proper medical confirmation by the concerned authority has caused serious threats to the safety of the community. The home quarantined returnees have been tested positive for COVID-19 after intrusion with the community.
The incident has proved the unpreparedness and lackadaisical attitude of the concern authority which imposes a threat to the community at large. The Tening Village Youth Organization (TVYO) & Tening Students’ Union (TSU) taking a serious concern, expressed their resentment towards the lapses and negligence involved in handling the matter.
The TVYO & TSU stipulate the concerned authority to undergo immediate contact tracing and perform necessary medical tests to all those in contact with the Haryana returnees which tested positive for COVID-19.
The TVYO & TSU demand the TrueNat machine to be installed at the earliest. Also to combat the disease and enhance the safety of the community, TVYO & TSU demand proper medical personnel to be deployed at the earliest.
TVYO & TSU also demanded the accustomed ambulance to be placed at Primary Health Center Tening for any medical emergencies that may arise within Tening area.
Further, TVYO & TSU stated that, failing to fulfill the urgent demand after repeated mishandling of the case in the District, the concern authority will be held responsible for any community spreading and undesirable fatalities that may arise thereof.
