Total Shutdown In Peren District On April 15th

Peren, April 14 (NEx): The United Zeliangrong Youth Federation imposed a lightning total shut down of Peren District for 12 hours (6: 00 am- 6: 00 pm) on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 in protest against the highhandedness of district administration for clamping section 144 of CrPC.

The UZYF notification said that the 12 hours total shutdown includes of all business establishment, private commercial vehicles, educational institutions except exam centres within Peren district.

The youth federation stated that the protest is against the highhandedness of district Administration for clamping section 144 CrPC to stop peaceful agitation and wilful violation of DCs order dated April 15, 2021, by the administrative Officer.

However, the youth federation said that the Medical & Emergency Services, Para Military and Security Forces, Schools having HLSC/HSSLC Exam Centres & Examinees and District Administration on official duty are exempted from the purview of the bandh.

Earlier, the UZYF has called for an indefinite bandh of Government offices, vehicles and activities from April 13th, 2021 in protest against the Govt. of Nagaland for non-fulfilment of the charter of demand to book the culprits of the three victims of March 22nd, 2021 at Lamhainamdi Village under Peren, within 10 days.

Following the incident of burning down the vehicle of ADC Jalukie on Wednesday by Youths, the Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate, Peren has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC, prohibiting assembly of more than 5 (five) persons and carrying of any lethal weapons and arms in specific areas in Peren district with immediate effect until further Order.
