Kohima, August 02 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, extended the total lockdown in Mon Town & Tizit Sub-Division uptill August 09, 2020.
An order issued by Thavaseelan on Saturday stated that 7 days total lockdown enforced in Mon Town & Tizit Sub-Division from July 27 till August 02, 2020 has been extended for 7 more days, starting from August 03 till August 09, 2020.
As guidelines to follow, the DC Mon stated that, all movement of public is prohibited except on medical emergencies. All social/cultural/religious/academic gathering shall be banned. All business / commercial establishment and shops except Pharmacies shall remain closed.
All movements of public vehicles except those permitted is banned. No movements will be permitted in and out of Mon Town & Tizit Sub-Division. Not more than 20 people will be permitted in case of funerals. A register containing the names and contact details of all those who attend must be mandatorily maintained and submitted to the concerned subdivision officers, it added.
Exception from total lockdown;
Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, banks, Fire and Emergency Services, Health and Family Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, power, PHED, Sanitation workers of MTC, Treasuries and Accounts, PWD (R&B)/ National Highways, Postal services, Prisons, District Court, IPR, Home guards and civil defence and Para Military forces are exempted from the purview of total lockdown.
Further, DC Mon requested all to kindly comply with this order. If any person is found violating this order, he/she will be penalized under the relevant provisions of the law, warned DC Mon.
