Thuwuni Music Festival begins at Dimapur today

Dimapur, November 27 (NE): The most awaited cultural based music festival being promoted as co-founder by Alobo Naga’s Thuwuni Music Festival has begun from today, November twenty seven at Noune Resort, Dimapur, which was being held at Pughoboto, since its inception in 2014, but due to various reasons and owing to upcoming preparations for jubilee in suitable venues, both for indigenous games and festival and the musical concert, it had to be shifted here at Dimapur district.

This was informed by Alobo Naga, while addressing media fraternity few days back in a press conference held at conference hall, Hope Café, Dimapur.

Alobo is also one of the founding members of Thuwuni, and also heads Musik-A events, an event based company which took over the festival in the year 2018.

In order to cater a bigger audience and make it more accessible to visitors and tourists, Thuwuni Music Festival has been proposed closer to Hornbill Festival so that people coming in for Hornbill, can also enjoy both the festivals.

Describing the vision behind the festival, Alobo had stated that it was an attempt to create a platform for upcoming Naga artistes and musicians to outshine their talents and share the stage with international and national artistes, as well as to cater a livelihood opportunity for rural farmers and local entrepreneurs.

It is also learned that the festival will provide unique rural and adventure tourism experiences for its visitors.

For the first time in Nagaland, silent disco will be introduced at the festival, along side drive in movie and local food court for organic local food and varieties of local beverages stalls for local entrepreneurs.

The festival will also include outdoor activities such as angling, boat ride, water safari, quad biking and outdoor camping.

Day one of the festival will witness bands such as Avora Records, Polar Lights, Paper Sky, etc., under the tag line “Rock of Ages”. Day two, that is tomorrow, November twenty eight will witness music of Bollywood, country and oldies, while the third night will witness three female DJs, under the theme “Pink night: women empowerment”.

The event is being organised and managed by Musik-A events, and supported by TaFMA, National Geographic Channel and various other enterprises. It will end on November twenty nine.
