The Special train from Andhra Pradesh reached Dimapur last night

Kohima, May 29 (NE): Amidst the nationwide lockdown, the stranded citizens outside the state has been evacuated by specially arranged trains and buses by the government in a scheduled routine.

It was reported that, a special train from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh to the North East carrying 100 stranded citizens of Nagaland along with other Northeast citizens which started on May 26, 2020 reached Dimapur at around 10:00 pm last night, May 28, 2020.

Another train from Jaipur which also moved out on May 26, 2020 with 300 stranded persons from Nagaland reached Lumding early this morning, May 29, 2020. The passengers are now en route to Nagaland by buses, informed Shanavas C IAS, the Nodal State Officer for stranded citizens outside the state.

Also, 4 buses arranged by the State government carrying over 120 stranded citizens left Kolkata for Nagaland at around 11:00 am on May 27, 2020. The buses have already reached Guwahati as of 10:00 am today, as per an information by one of the passengers in the buses.

Another Special Train started from Goa on May 28, 2020 carrying about 435 stranded persons of Nagaland along with stranded persons of other North Eastern States. This Train is expected to arrive Lumding railway station on May 31, 2020.

Meanwhile, The Special Train from Bengaluru to Dimapur which was expected to carry over 1600 stranded persons of Nagaland and was scheduled to depart on May 28, 2020, has now been deferred because of unavoidable circumstances.
