The first ever “Nagaland Music Industry Stakeholders Conclave” organised to mark the World Music Day

Kohima: To mark the World Music Day, the Music Task Force (MTF), under the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, organized the first ever ‘Nagaland Music Industry Stakeholders Conclave’ with the theme ‘Music & Arts to greater heights’.

The event took place at the regional center of excellence for music and performing arts Jotsoma on 21st June, 2019. The event featured workshops, concert and a music equipment donation drive for the less privileged music learners.

MTF project director Hovithal said : “There is no other better day to hold the first ever stakeholders conclave than the World Music Day.”

The Conclave was graced by Apostle Rev. Luoliehu Yimsung as the special guest.

Workshops on music education, choir, artist management and production was held during the afternoon session.

The workshop was for the musicians to express their joys, sorrows and dreams and also a platform for them to share their challenges and deliberate on ways in which MTF can be of help in carrying forward the music industry.

The third phase of the programme featured an open mic event and concert in which 17 bands and several artistes including acclaimed musician Nise Meruno, folk artiste Tetseo Sisters and Methaneilie Jütakhrie participated.
