Kohima, June 09 (NEx): The Nodal officer for Covid-19 in Dimapur, Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS led Team Dimapur, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS and Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, and visited several NGOs/Civil societies on June 9th 2021, to acknowledge them for the help rendered in the fight against Covid pandemic.
The team met and acknowledged the NGOs & CSOs which include Hope Charitable Foundation, Lingrijan, who is providing 24×7 toll free facility and giving counseling services to the poor and needy. It also met Rotary Club, President, Chandu Agarwal and lauded them for their continued support and cooperation not only during the 1st and 2nd Covid wave but during any extraordinary times.
The team further met and acknowledged the Bengali Bongs for their humanitarian services by providing more than 100 packed foods to the poor and also for coming forward to donate blood when the need arises. They also visited Sikh Gurudwara and dubbing them as brave warriors, the nodal officer mentioned that Sikh community was the first amongst the NGOs, this year and even last year rendering philanthropic services in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Sema reiterated on the huge responsibility shouldered by Dimapur district being the gateway of Nagaland and reminded that the war will go on and assured that we will win the war.
Pointing out that presently, Dimapur district has enough beds and oxygen cylinders with huge reduction of positive cases, Sema said, “We are in the winning side and Corona is on the losing side”, and further encouraged Dimapur warriors saying, “Get ready if our services are required even in other districts, we will go and help them.”
Appreciating the decision of High Powered Committee for extension of lockdown for another week, Sema admitted that though economic activities are needed, human lives are more important.
