Kohima, July 17 (NEx): The Health & Family Welfare department informed of a Superspreader event in Nagaland, where 24 out of 46 contacts were tested positive after attending a funeral service in Mokokchung with a positivity rate of 57%.
The Dept. in its weekly bulletin said that Superspreading events are the main drivers of this pandemic and maximum precautions should be taken to minimize them and added that any social gathering is a high-risk event.
The dept. advised the community to strictly enforce limiting the number of people as per State SOP (50 for funerals), double masking, physical distancing and handwashing, and also to avoid any gatherings to the extent possible and practice staggering of timings if visits are unavoidable.
Further, it said that unavoidable services should be held in an open space or an area with adequate natural ventilation. Also, it advised high risk individuals to avoid any social gathering.
