Kohima, November 26 (NEx): The State National Service Scheme (NSS) Officer, NSS Cell, Government of Nagaland, Mr. Zeneikho Bendict, visited St.Joseph University on November 25, 2020 to assess the activities of NSS in the university.
A press release from the PRO of the university informed that Bendict was welcomed by Dr. R.K. Behera, Dean of Academics and NSS co-ordinator Mr. Manjit Roy. The state NSS officer had a discussion with the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, and NSS co-ordinator regarding NSS activities.
The co-ordinator Manjit Roy gave a presentation on “NSS activities in St.Joseph University ”. The officer was happy with the achievements and appreciated that St. Joseph University is a new university but still it had done so many NSS activities, the PRO said.
Further, the PRO said that the state NSS officer highlighting on benefits of NSS suggested ways to strengthen the NSS Unit and also remarked that it is beneficial to both students as well as the society in various ways.
Bendict said that NSS helps the student to grow individually and also as a group. It helps the students to develop leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life.
