Kohima, November 24 (NEx): The Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, alongwith Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan & Joint Secretary Border Affairs, Jamithung Patton held a joint meeting today with the Mokokchung District Administrators headed by DC, ADC, SP, ASP, Border magistrates Merangmen HQ and other government Officials under Mokokchung District to discuss on the ground reality of the Border areas between Assam and Nagaland.

The Assam organizations have set up an economic blockade against Nagaland for land encroachment issues, which has entered into the second week now and still no sign of solution.
The Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Imna Along assured that the Government of Nagaland is determined to lift the blockade on the border between the two states, and eventually pursue to solve the Border problem amicably. He also appealed the people of Tzurangkong area to co-operate with the State government and remain resilient during this hardship.
‘We also look forward to a fruitful discussion with the Assam Government and appeal to the Tea tribes (Assam) living in the area to create a continual environment for the restoration of Trust and Peace’- unquote.
The meeting was attended by Tzurangkong Council Members, Tzurangkong Students Union, Village Council members under Tzurangkong Range (VC), Tzurangkong Range Naga Youth Front (TRNYF).
