Special train from Jaipur started, 25 stranded persons of Nagaland on board

Kohima, June 02 (NE): A special train from Jaipur in Rajasthan with stranded persons of Northeast India started on Monday at around 11:00 pm. The train is bound for Guwahati in Assam.

As per the official announcement and approval by Shri Ashish Modi, Joint Secretary DOP (A-1) Department & Member, State level Committee for Interstate migration, around 25 stranded persons of Nagaland from across Rajasthan under Naga Student Union Rajasthan, who couldn’t make it in the first phase on May 26, 2020, have been boarded in this train.

Under the supervision of Nodal officer for Assam Dr. Om Prakash , IAS, the Second evacuation of stranded persons from Jaipur by a Special Shramik train will carry stranded persons from across the Western States ( Bengal/ Jharkhand/Assam).

For stranded persons of Nagaland, a special bus will be provided by Nagaland government to travel from Guwahati to Nagaland.

However, the official news of second evacuation was announced to the NSUR Team at the eleventh hour, which eventually led to failure of some members from NSUR to board the second train due to the delay of information by the Rajasthan officials.

Meanwhile, Asimbe, President of Naga Students’ Union Rajasthan (NSUR) informed that this morning, Supongrenla, Woman coordinator NSUR, visited five Naga students (5 Females) who are leaving for Jaipur to catch a flight for Guwahati today. After which they will travel towards Nagaland by road. He also informed that they have already reach Jaipur.

The president expressed gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Supongrenla, for always being a motherly figure among the Nagas in Rajasthan.
