Kohima, July 20 (NEx): The Government of Nagaland has permitted the resumption of regular classes for students of 11th & 12th standard in all the Schools with effect from August 2nd, 2021. It also allowed the re-opening of colleges & technical institutions, and in-house skill development institutions/ establishments from July 26th, 2021 in the state.
The Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J. Alam IAS, issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reopening of Schools, colleges & technical institutions, and in-house skill development institutions/ establishments on the mentioned dates with up to 50% attendance, on the preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19, for strict compliance by all concerned throughout the State of Nagaland.
The order said that re-opening of the institutions shall be subjected to all the teachers and non-teaching staff, trainers and assistants, having been fully vaccinated (taken both the doses) against COVID-19, or having taken the 1st (first) dose of vaccine
against COVID-19, and at least 15 (fifteen) days have passed since taking the 1st (first) dose.
The SOP also said that maximum percentage of attendance of students in any class on a particular day shall be 50%. It also asked the schools to submit the list of teaching/non teaching staff with their vaccination status to the respective District Task Force through the District Education Officer and advised students above the age of 18 years to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Further, the SOP emphasized on following the generic preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which includes physical distancing, use of face masks, frequent hand washing and prohibition of spitting.
