SKK strongly condemns the robbery attempt at KPA

Kohima, March 10 (NE): The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), through a press release issued by the General Secretary, Bokalu V Jimo, on March 10, 2020, strongly condemned the robbery attempt at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) on the night of March 5, 2020.

According to the press release, the SKK had a sitting with the stakeholders in and around KPA institution on March 7, 2020, and decided to give full cooperation during the investigation period. The Union expressed sadness on learning that personnel material belongings of some teaching faculties has also been damaged and stolen. The Union urged the extension of support from the concern citizens and urged the concern Police Station (Officer in Charge) to book the culprit and investigate the case as per the FIR lodged and details extracted from the spot verification. It also stated that the very incident should not contradict with the upgradation of KPA. The SKK appealed the concern department to deploy security without further delay and install Police Outpost at the earliest, as KPA is in the process of being upgraded to Engineering College.

Also, the SKK acknowledged Shri. Temjen Imma Along , Minister – Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs for his tireless efforts and assurance to uplift KPA to a full fledged Engineering College which has been long pending since the approval of the Cabinet Decision in 2007.

Further, the Union urged the Contractor in charge of the ongoing ‘Civil Works, Repair/Renovation at KPA under NBA’, for quality work to be executed as per the specifications from the work order.
