Sit-in protest against CAB held at Kohima

Dimapur, December 10 (NE): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) held a Sit-in protest on the 10th of December 2019 in front of the State Governor’s residence (Raj Bhavan), Kohima to express the strong resentment of the people against the approval of the Union Cabinet to the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

The Presidential Message was delivered by Eno Ninoto Awomi, President NSF, followed by the Solidarity messages which were delivered by Eno E Krelo, Tribunal General NSF, and Eno NSN Lotha, former President NSF, respectively. The program was attended by hundreds of college students who extended solidarity against the contentious CAB, said in a notification.

The protest is in furtherance of the resolution adopted at the Executive and Component Units meeting of the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) held on 6th December 2019 at Prag Continental Hotel, Guwahati wherein it was unanimously resolved to organise a complete shut-down of the entire North-East region on 10th December ’19 against the Union Cabinet’s assent to CAB with the exception of Nagaland state due to the ongoing examinations of the students and the Hornbill festival in the state.
