Kohima, September 09 (NEx): Jalukie Battalion of Assam Riles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N) cracked down on an illegal armoury shop being run under the guise of a mechanic repair at C block New Jalukie, Peren district on September 08, 2020.

A press release from Assam Rifles PRO said, based on specific intelligence regarding presence of armoury shop in the area, the security forces alongwith Police representative launched an operation and apprehended one individual. The troops recovered large number of weapons, raw material and equipment used for making/ modifying weapons like pistols and rifles.

The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Jalukie police station, it said.

In another, crackdown by Security Forces to prevent illegal activities in Nagaland, Security Forces seized IMFL in general area Dhobinala, Dimapur on September 07, 2020.

Based on specific intelligence regarding illegal activities in general area Dhobinala, Dimapur, Security Forces alongwith Police representative launched an operation and apprehended Mr Tarun Rai, age 34 years, S/o Mr Neela Rai, r/o Dhobinala, and Mr Surjeet Debbarman, age 20 years, r/o Dhobinala, Dimapur District.

Recoveries included 22 cases of IMFL amounting approx Rs 1.25 Lakh, in addition to Rs 17,110 in cash, said the press release from Assam Rifles PRO.

The apprehended individual along with recovered items were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, it said.
