Second dose of COVID-19 vaccination begins in Nagaland

The second dose of vaccination in Nagaland began on February 14, 2021 at NHAK, Kohima and District Hospital Tuensang.

Kohima, February 15 (NEx): The second dose of vaccination in Nagaland began on February 14, 2021 at NHAK, Kohima and District Hospital Tuensang.

A total of 123 healthcare workers were vaccinated the second dose yesterday including senior doctors and nurses in the two hospitals with a turnout of 96% and no adverse events that needed medical attention were reported.

The 123 healthcare workers were provided the Covid-19 vaccination certification on completion of full dose, Dr. Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland informed.

Till date, 11,601 doses have been administered in the 11 districts of Nagaland (1st dose -11478, & 2nd dose-123). Two doses are essential for each beneficiary for immunogenicity and the two doses are administered after a gap of atleast 28 days, SIO added.
