Sechü Zubza FC enters Classic Cup final

Kohima, November 21: Sechü Zubza FC defeated two times champion New Market XI 3-0 in the second semifinal match to enter the final of the 25th Classic Cup 2019 played today at Kohima local ground.

In the match, Visalie Mezhü, Daveikho Maizamo and Rhitsho Mero scored a goal each for Sechü Zubza during the encounter. Sechü Zubza captain Rhitsho Mero continue to lead the highest scorer of the tournament with 12 goals in four matches.

The final match of the tournament between Sechü Zubza and Puliebadze Club Jotsoma will be played on November 23rd at 1:30 pm.

While on Friday, Kohima Press Club and Classic Club Kohima will be playing the 12th Edition of the Challenger Cup at Kohima local ground at 2 PM.

The Challenger Cup is an annual football exhibition match played by the two clubs since 2006 as a mark of camaraderie among the members of the two clubs. The friendly match is a regular feature of the annual premier football tournament of the Classic Cup, which is organized by the Classic Club Kohima.

This year’s edition is a special as the Classic Club is also celebrating its 25th anniversary, and to signify the occasion, the club has also come out with a special jersey for the KPC team as well.
