Saw Mill Partially Burnt, Houses Gutted At Dimapur

The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) today informed that two house were gutted by fire and a Saw Mill along with one house were partially burnt in two seperate fire incidents at Dimapur

Kohima, March 15 (NEx): The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) today informed that two house were gutted by fire and a Saw Mill along with one house were partially burnt in two fire incidents at Dimapur.

Fire at Saw Mill Dimapur:

The R. O (E) F&ES Kenny Khing informed that a fire call was received at 12:36 am on March 15th, 2021 from Kacharigaon, Industrial Estate colony, Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Dimapur (West) proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action, he said.

A Saw Mill along with one house was partially burnt in the inferno and property worth Rs. 2 Lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno. However, due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to surrounding buildings and property worth Rs.20 Lakhs approximately could be salvaged.

The cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI M. Martin Miasalhou, Khing informed.

In another incident, the RO informed that a Fire call was received at 02:54 am on March 13, 2021 from NAPTC, Chümoukedima.

Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire and two Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

Two Katcha houses along with household properties were gutted and property worth Rs. 4 Lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno. However, due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to surrounding, Khing said.

It took the Fire Team 30 minutes to combat the fire and the cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit, there was no casualty.
The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Francis Seiminlal Singsit, the RO informed.

Jungle fire at Dimapur:

RO Khing informed that another Fire call was received at 02:16 pm on March 13th, 2021 near Bethel Baptist School, 4th Mile, Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action, he said.

The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Kenyuyhun Kent, Khing informed.
