Dimapur, November 11 (NE): The S.D. Jain Higher Secondary School, Dimapur has celebrated its 72nd Annual today on Novemeber eleven at the school Auditorium where President of S.D. Jain Samaj and Marwari Samaj, Shri Om Prakash Sethi was the Guest of Honour. The program was started with lighting of Jain Traditional Lamp by the Guest of Honour and other dignitaries. It was followed by a beautifully choreographed Jain Manglacharan Dance presented by the students of Class 7 to 10.
Shri. Om Prakash Sethi, in his address, lauded the school managing committee, Principal, and staff members of the school for their hard work in bringing laurels to the school. He told the gathering that Jain Samaj is running different services to the society in the form of School, College and Hospital which is not intended to make any profit. He also declared that the school will be shifted to a new campus with modern facilities and the works for the same will start from next year.
Secretary School Managing committee, Shri Ajay Sethi elucidated a brief history of Jain Community in Nagaland. As per the historical records and references from the Samaj elders, that Jain School was in existence since 1920 and it is the centenary year of the establishment of the school by the Jain Samaj. He urged the members of the Jain Samaj that profit making should not be the only motive, as the Jain samaj is doing a lot for the welfare of the society and it is time for us to contribute to the nation building. He said that time is changing so is education. The school is always ready to provide best possible facilities to the students to learn better and excel in life.
Office bearers of different organizations under Jain Samaj was felicitated on the occasion along with the past committee members of the school, President of Kerala Samaj, Shri. Nalina Kumar, Shri. Mahesh Agarwal Vice President of Agarwal Samaj, Shri Mahesh Agarwal and Shri Ashuli Joseph from ANPSA Central also in attended the program.
Special Numbers by the Higher Secondary students, Action Dance by Tiny Tots, Bengali Dance, Nepali Dance, Patriotic Song, Modern Dance, Sumi Naga cultural dance presented by the students enthralled the Parents and guests. HSLC Examination Subject Toppers in the state and winners of competition conducted in the school were awarded on the occasion. Another highlight of the program was the releasing of School Annual Bulletin named Kaleidoscope by the Special Guest.
Principal, SDJHSS, Shri Reji Abraham presented the school report. Ms. Kekhriesenuo Rio of Cass 9 delivered the Welcome Address and Mrs. Mrinalini Chakraborty delivered vote of thanks.
