Nagaland: Rockslide on NH-29 damages 2 vehicles, no injuries

Kohima, September 19 (NEx): In the midst of heavy road expansion works happening along NH-29, early this morning, September 19, 2020 a rockslide occurred near Patkai area damaging 2 (two) vehicles and also causing blockade of the road preventing vehicular movement.

Police sources said that thankfully no one got injured due to the incident. They also confirmed that the road has been cleared for vehicle movement during the day.

Rockslides has been occuring frequently in this stretch of the National Highway – 29, where 4-lane roadworks are going on. Due to which, the DC Dimapur has also issued a circular for total restriction of vehicle movement tomorrow, September 20, 2020, along the stretch from Patkai bridge to Kukidolong for road restoration works and to avoid loss of life and property.

The DC advised the commuters to take the alternative route via 7th mile to Medziphema/Jharnapani for travelling between Kohima to Dimapur and vice versa.
