Kohima, March 19 (NEx): The Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio called on Union Minister for Education, Government of India, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank at New Delhi today.
Informing about this through a tweet, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, ‘We had a fruitful discussion regarding setting-up of Indian Institute of Science Education & Research and implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in Nagaland. Currently, there are seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research in the country; IISER Kolkata in West Bengal, IISER Pune in Maharashtra, IISER Mohali in Punjab, IISER Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, IISER Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, IISER Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and IISER Berhampur in Odisha.
It is pertinent to note that, Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along with State Legislators also called on the Union Education Minister in New Delhi last month and discussed various concerns associated with the educational sector in Nagaland.
