Ratobe Poireng from Nagaland has been selected to play in Lilla Torg FF Club in Sweden

Dimapur, August 13: With the initiative of Er. Zale Neikha, Hon’ble Advisor to the department of Youth Resources and Sports, Govt. of Nagaland together with the Scouting and Managerial Expertise of Soccer Competition, Ratobe Poireng from Nagaland has been selected to play in Lilla Torg FF football club in Malmö city, Sweden.

Ratobe went to Sweden last month along with the U-15 girls football team who represented India at Gothia Cup 2019 in Sweden. After intensive training and skill test for about 1 month, finally he got selected to play in Lilla Torg FF Soccer club in Sweden. Ratobe will be placed in the 4th division team at an initial stage with the scope of progressing to a higher division in the up coming season.

Ratobe is the son of H. Poireng from Poilwa village under Peren district. He was a former player of Barak FC, Peren and former striker at Guwahati Town Club.

Ratobe also participated in a try out in a 1st division Bundesliga club- Hannover 96. The club showed great interest for future inclusion.

Asked if he want to put across any message to our people, he stated,
“Success isn’t given, It is earned. On the track, on the field, In the gym, with blood, sweat and the occasional tears”.

He also encouraged the people by quoting his favourite verse from the Bible,” Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.”(Proverbs 16: 3).
