PWD area in Kohima demarcated as containment zone

Kohima, June 27 (NE): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS demarcated PWD area defined below as containment zone, in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person at upper PWD colony Kohima, Municipal Ward No-11, in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection. All movement of person/vehicles within the defined containment zone/area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance, with immediate effect untill further notice, the notification said.

Traffic Point PWD Junction from NH-61 – NSF Martyrs Park – Chakhesang, CRC Church – Footstep down to Faith Harvest Church – Footstep to Govt. High School, PWD – Footstep leading to Circular road behind NPWD office – PWD office junction – Back to Traffic Point PWD Junction NH-61.

On June 25, five (5) frontline workers in Nagaland tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland, out of which, a staff at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima who resides in upper PWD area was also tested positive, following which the area has been sealed by police to contain the situation.

As of June 26, 2020, the total count of positive cases for COVID-19 in the State stands at 371. Among the confirmed cases, 160 patients have recovered from COVID-19 taking the active cases in the state to 211, as per an update by the Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom.
