Power Department to impose load shedding throughout Nagaland on rotation basis

Kohima, November 22 (NEx): The Department of Power, Nagaland on Sunday informed all electricity consumers and public that it is compelled for load shedding throughout the state of Nagaland on rotation basis.

The Chief Engineer, Transmission and Generation, Power Department, Nribemo Mozhui in a press release today, said that the load shedding is being initiated due to low generation from the Hydro Power Generating stations and the resultant shortfalls.

The power department further appealed all the consumers for judicious and optimum use of electricity by switching off avoidable appliances that would go a long way to reduce the duration and quantum of the load shedding.

While regretting the inconvenience caused to the consumer, Chief Engineer informed that the power department is making all efforts to provide stable power supply during the festive season of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
