Police Commemoration Day observed in Nagaland

Nagaland Police today, joined the rest of the country in observing the Police Commemoration Day

Kohima, October 21 (NEx): Nagaland Police today, joined the rest of the country in observing the Police Commemoration Day by conducting Ceremonial Parade at New Police Reserve, Phesama.

Every year, October 21st is observed as Police Commemoration Day in remembrance of the sacrifices of ten policemen who died in an incident of Chinese firing in 1959.

Paying homage to the supreme sacrifices of policemen all over India, Nagaland DGP, T John Longkumer said that today is not only a day of mourning but a day when we remember the spirit of selfless sacrifices shown by the martyrs and renew our pledge to serve our people, to secure and maintain the integrity of the nation.

He added that their sacrifices aimed at securing a better tomorrow for all, and the supreme sacrifices made by the Nagaland Police officers and men will always be remembered by the department and also by those they died protecting. Further, the DGP said that they take pride in the valor shown by the officers and are inspired by their selfless dedication of protecting others.

The youngest and 12th district of Nagaland, Noklak also observed the Police commemoration day along with other districts in Nagaland today.
