Peren: Tening to extend lockdown till May 31st

Peren, May 19 (NEx): The Tening SDTF on COVID-19 held a meeting on May 19th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Town Hall Tening with ADC Rhosietho Nguori, NCS as the chairman and resolved to extend the lockdown till May 31st, 2021 for Tening Sub-Division.

The meeting resolved to extend lockdown for Tening Sub Division till May 31st, 2021, in the event of non extension of lockdown by the Government and also decided to suspend Churches/temples of all denomination/faith under Tening Sub-Division throughout the lockdown period.

It was also resolved to activate or form the Village Task Force (VTE) and Ward Task Force (WTF), in order to effectively manage COVID-19 pandemic situation in their respective villages/wards.

The time for opening of shops selling essential commodities from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon shall be strictly enforced and Tening Police shall set up temporary check gate at Zero Point to regulate all unauthorized movement of people/traffic, it said.

Further, the house resolved that Travel Permit shall be issued by the ADC Office Tening for travels related to essential commodities/services and all persons/villagers travelling to Tening town for essential commodities/services should obtain written permit from the respective Village Council authority.

The meeting was attended by Pastors of different churches in Tening Town, all GBs of Tening Town, Chairman of Tening Village Council, and the Pastor of Tening village Baptist Church. Shri Atubo Newmai, Pastor of Tening Town Christian Revival Church pronounced the invocation while Shri Khengpi, BPM highlighted on the ongoing vaccination program in the sub division and benediction pronounced by Shri K. Lailu Pastor of Tening Village Baptist Church.
